life.
weekends are for:
ignoring your blogger account and lazing around.
watching your sisters enjoy zumba in the town square. hah.
and strolling through the booths with dad.
getting coffee with a dollar pawned off the younger brother, and a couple quarters from a great uncle.
missing the whole family in southern illinois.
and the sweetie who was born while anna and i were down there.
a new container of italian roast by trader joe's. we haven't had it for probably a month.
phil joel music. randomly.
and that's the end of a post written on a very interesting sunday evening. sigh. :)

i love old people.
. . . makes me think of gram. and grandpa jack, who died when mom was still young.
dangit, those people in that picture are freaking cute. [rach just said she could see me doing that someday. hahaha . . . thanks.]
here's the post where i found it.
bohemian bowmans always has it spot-on. gosh.
i so do what she does . . . imagine what they were like when they were young; the tough and happy, bright spots they went through to get here, everything. life is just precious.
:)
so . . . has anyone missed me?
el oh el.

black and white films, coffee, and yarn . . .
i experimented with my hair today.
i don't know if you noticed.
i plan on getting it wet and spiking it the normal way before heading out for bible study with anna and ben...
but a few of the siblings are voting keep it.
now all i need to get ready is the blue pair of button earrings that look like those plug-style ear thangs, and some eyeliner . . .
but anyways, earlier this afternoon i had the need to watch this old classic.
there's nothing like some bogart and bacall. :)
so i curled up with a blanket and coffee, picked up a skein of light latte colored yarn and a crochet hook [i haven't done such things for probably more than a year] and did most of a scarf while watching to have and have not.
it was good.
it's getting more exciting, with jen's due date getting nearer and nearer . . .
i'll just say that :)
ah! and a song i've become obsessed with this afternoon, thanks to kelsey.
have a lovely tuesday tomorrow :)

staple guns and the like.
no, i'm not working on my wingback chair yet.
sigh.
aren't you disappointed.
[well, those of you who remember those posts around this time last year, el oh el.]
lovely blade.
*shiver*
the other night . . . oh. wow. september 22 . . . i went out to the shop and had ben let me try my hand at putting canvas on a frame for a painting that i have yet to start. :)
yes, the staple gun and me had a date.
i never thought that day would come.
it was almost as freaky as i'd imagined it to be.
and there's the brother.
doing the corners that i have no clue how to do.
get this: he's starting to read this book by ted dekker and tosca lee, and after seeing the cover, he made this with the woodburner:
he's done icons from robin hood bbc and ted dekker's circle series, and people love those.
also, [continuing the shameless plug] if you ever want a beautiful wood pen, here is where to get them.
also, a random fact: i'm really psyched about getting to see the civil wars again in november . . . :)
this was our first time. flippin' amazing. mhmm.
i hope you all had yourselves a good sunday. the whole day was gorgeous like this for us:
what was something special that happened in your day?
sigh.
aren't you disappointed.
