over the past few days . . .

since i read it, many of my thoughts lately have been measured against this post:

horn of africa: on the brink of a humanitarian crisis.
my friend, hanna, linked to it a bit ago.

my thoughts on the matter: truly? i want to sponsor a child someday. someday soon. i have thoughts and plans written down, fresh from tonight.

then there's matthew paul turner's post:
social justice exhaustion: far too many of us are sick and tired . . .

33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me, and just as I said to the Jews, so now I also say to you, 'Where I am going you cannot come.'
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
[John 13:33-35]

My husband and I sponser a little boy in Haiti through Hold the Children. You should check them out :)

It takes a selfless heart to do something so significant, and that, my dear, you certainly have :)
