chocolate cake.

Italian Chocolate Cake --I honestly don't know why it's called "Italian"...did the Italians make up chocolate cake? Mmmm, this is good. Nice and moist.

2 c flour
2 c sugar
1 cup butter
3 T cocoa
1 c water
½ c buttermilk
1 t baking soda
1 t vanilla

1. Mix flour and sugar together. Set aside.
2. In saucepan, mix butter, cocoa and water and bring to boil.
3. Pour the wet mixture over flour/sugar and mix well.
4. Add baking soda and buttermilk. Mix in eggs and vanilla.
Pour into 9x13 greased pan. Bake at 400 for 20-25 minutes.
Yummy!
Keep in mind that this is very, very simple. As in, stupidly simple. Once you know how to melt butter and all that in a saucepan and dump it into the bowl of stuff, and if you know how to crack eggs, then you're pretty much set.
Try it.
Now, y'all have to message me as to how it came out, and how long it took for everyone in the house to polish it off. (Or just you, if you were evil enough to keep it for yourself and therefore make it when you were home alone...;))
Shouldn't there be a law against a cake turning out so moist and good-tasting to begin with--? A few months ago, when I made this last, I had 2-3 pieces when it was straight out of the oven, virtually, and it was so hot and so, so good. You must try it. It's worth risking a semi-burnt tongue, trust me. ;)
Tell me that doesn't look good. Just tell me. And I'll know you're lying. I ate this while painting. It's a wonderful combination, and I should be posting the painting tomorrow...sometime. :)

Mmm, that sounds very very very much like a Texas sheet cake. ;) Must be kind of like a crepe. Which are known as South African/Mexican/Italian/etc pancakes. :P
