artistic endeavors: when one loves. daytime sky #1

I figured it was time for a paint post again.
Something I haven't been doing at all the past week, darnit.
Being sick totally saps all inspiration. At least, it did for me. This time.
Praise God, I'm much better today than even yesterday.
And guess what?
Mhmm. :) My first cup of coffee since Thursday.
I only brewed up to the 4 on the pot, and shared the rest with Dad.
And, I'm excited--well, I hope I actually do it...
I'm going to try to do what Kat says in this post.
So, to the soundtrack and noises of Dad watching Band Of Brothers (the last disc, whew; there are 10 parts to this thing, and though it's interesting it can be kind of...traumatizing....but that's war, isn't it?), I shall be writing.
Oh, and before I start the art, here's a song you need to listen to.
It's amazing. Full of truth.
Just pairing the word truth with that song reminds me of this C.S. Lewis quote:
If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth; only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair.
Wow. Like, really? Tell it like it is, would you?

Aaaaaanyhow.
This was Monday, June 28. Holy cow. Dontcha just love how time flies.
Oh wait. Anna is reading this book,
and she has a blog, and Anna and I both bet someday the book and blog will be made into a movie. (ya know, like Julie and Julia? yeah.--oh, i like the music on that site.:)
Okay. Back to what I was saying...er, showing you....
That is a standard painting picture. Sorry if it seems repetitive. Sometimes (ahem) I'm a creature of habit.
Yes! I finally finished those little canvases that I had envisioned next to one of those bigger ones.... They're not finished, by the way, in that picture above. That's just the background.
Yep.
And I'm weird and imaginative-enough to morph those black streaks and blocks at the bottom into....well...something like a city's silhouette?
Just love how it looks against different backgrounds.
And.......
That's about it.
I've found myself calling it a Daytime Sky canvas. So....there might be another series here. :)

I stayed up till 11:30 last night --my new cut-off time for reading. Finished The Mailbox yesterday around 7pm. It was a pretty good book, and hopefully like most authors she'll get better as she writes more books. She has one coming out next year. So we'll just have to wait and see. I'm not holding my breath, but hey--she's someone's favorite cup of tea!
. . . Started Something Beyond the Sky before bedtime.
How many times have I said I love Siri Mitchell's writing? I just love her.

This morning I read Psalm 130.
I needed it. Reminders, anyone??
Psalm 130

Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD!
 O Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my pleas for mercy!

If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities,
   O Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness,
   that you may be feared.

I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,
   and in his word I hope;
my soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen for the morning,
more than watchmen for the morning.

O Israel, hope in the LORD!
For with the LORD there is steadfast love,
and with him is plentiful redemption.
And he will redeem Israel
   from all his iniquities.
With that, I'm going to stop procrastinating on fb and Blogger...and go do that prompt. :)
