chicken curry.

i'm in love with garam masala.
and the smell that blooms in the kitchen when you dump teaspoons of the spice into the sauteing onions-garlic-ginger.
oh my.
mince up your garlic and ginger, dice up a few onions.
saute that in some olive oil, and add the spices and a dash of salt.
add the tomatoes:)
chicken curry
chicken, cooked and cut into pieces
2 medium onion, finely diced
4 tbsp vegetable oil / olive oil
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1-3 tsp garam masala
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 inch ginger, minced finely
4 cloves garlic, minced finely
1/3 tsp coriander seeds
dash of salt to taste
dash of cayenne

saute the above ingredients
add:
3 cans chopped tomatoes
check seasonings to taste
add chicken
enjoy!
just before serving, add yogurt or sour cream
serve with naan bread.
 ~~~
and here we are. i kept it off the stove after i mix that up; made this ahead of time.
yesterday we went on a very mishap-full bike ride with casey. came home to chicken curry, applesauce cake with caramel sauce, and my first try out at cold brew . . . played spoons. and a one-line circle writing game that turned out pretty quirky but hilarious. then finished off the night with theology talk and the like.
i didn't get any pictures of the chicken curry and naan (we bought ours from wally world; they've got some decent stuff. i haven't experimented making naan yet:)
but gosh, i love chicken curry.
p.s. this is so stinking easy to make. so make it asap! :) you can serve it with rice, or with naan.
